Steyn City recently made an appearance on the list of South Africa’s top 10 residential estates, proudly claiming fourth place.
The list was compiled by New World Wealth, taking into account estate characteristics such as security, activities and facilities on offer, housing design and spacing, views, appeal and potential for resale and price growth.
“We are delighted that Steyn City ranks amongst the top four estates,” commented Steyn City Properties Giuseppe Plumari. “We believe that our achievement is even more considerable given that the top three estates are all coastal lifestyle estates; Steyn City is the only development located inland, in Gauteng. More impressive, still, is the fact that the estate is still in its infancy – there’s so much more to come.”
Plumari added that Steyn City certainly has much to offer in terms of the ranking criteria – and more besides. “There are over 100 reasons to make Steyn City your home.”

Steyn City’s inaugural fun run, hosted in collaboration with Trail Adventure on 14 August, was a resounding success!
Participants were able to choose between routes of 2,5km or 6km, and enthusiastically supported by residents and visitors. Onlookers had much to keep them occupied while the runners sweated on course, exploring the beautiful lifestyle resort with its kilometres of walking, jogging and cycling tracks, outdoor gyms and children’s play nodes.
Nibbles were provided by Steyn City’s casual eatery, The Deli, while the Seattle Coffee Company set up a mobile stall at Mandela Park.
The Man Cave crew was in tow, filming Alex Caige as he gathered material for a future episode in which Steyn City takes a starring role.
A lucky draw, with exciting prizes donated by our generous sponsors, added to the thrill of the day: Cheeky Media, the producers behind Man Cave, gave away five Fitbits, while Adventure Trail spoiled a lucky participant with a TomTom.
Feedback about the event has been tremendous: residents say they are looking forward to more fun runs, while Derek Alberts, sports presenter at SuperSport, 702 and 94.7, gave the ultimate endorsement, describing the run as the best he had completed within a gated community. “Steyn City has exceeded my expectations,” he commented.
Tumisho Masha, talented actor, voiceover artist, television presenter, DJ and motivational speaker, celebrated his 40th milestone with a lavish affair that embodied the glamour of the film and TV industry.
The stylish celebration was hosted at the international award winning Clubhouse at Steyn City, where fabulous décor - including vintage Porsches - added to the atmosphere of this stylish venue.
Masha welcomed his elegant, dapper guests, beautifully attired in their 20s regalia, in keeping with his Great Gatsby theme. Among his guests, made up of close family and friends, were celebrities Siv Ngesi, Lorna Masego and Mampho Brescia. Top Billing made an appearance, covering the former presenter’s history, career and family life in an insert to be broadcast during the next few weeks.
DJ Duncan from Cliff Central got the party started with great rhythms.
The party was a wonderful celebration of a life well lived and a career that is on an ever upward trajectory.
Steyn City’s popularity with production crews continues, with the lifestyle resort having been selected as the filming location for a new reality series: Jou Ma se Chef.
Presented by Siv Ngesi (who also co-produces the series), this cooking show turns the popular TV cheffing genre on its head by inviting participant teams – comprising a local celebrity and their mom – to cook a favourite dish from their childhoods.
Here’s the twist: as they cook, they also have to try their hand at challenges such as darts, karaoke or arm wrestling. That’s not all: before they dish up, they have to add some mysterious ingredients to their masterpiece. The final outcome is judged not by a connoisseur, but by an ordinary South African.
Tumisho Masha and his mom, Maureen, were recent participants on the show, sharing loads of fun and laughs over the stove.
Steyn City is becoming a frequent feature on television screens, with the lifestyle resort playing host to radio star Anele Mdoda’s new TV talk show. Produced by Cheeky Media, the show is filmed at new studios at Steyn City’s Cedar Road gatehouse, and screens on SABC3 on weekdays between 16h00 and 17h00.
Anele and her husband Thandile also chose Steyn City as the venue for the son Alakhe’s first birthday party. Kama Events Management Company created a fun farmyard in keeping with Alakhe’s Nickelodeon ‘Back to the Farmyard’- inspired theme, putting together a fabulous feast for the grownups.
With special appearances from Barney and friends as well as Dora the Explorer, this special occasion will live on in the memories of Anele and her family.
