Steyn City’s project management team reached for their shovels on Mandela Day 2012 to plant 67 trees at Reshomile Primary School in Diepsloot.
“Trees play an important role in every community and hold a particularly special place for us at Steyn City Properties, because they form the backbone of our lifestyle promise of ‘A City in a Park’,” comments Giuseppe Plumari, development director. “Similarly for the school, these 67 trees will eventually provide the children with shade, and they will now have the opportunity to learn about how to grow and look after them. The trees will also enhance the school environment.”
The school’s principal, Ms. D Xulu, expressed her gratitude and thanked Steyn City Properties on behalf of the school’s staff, pupils and community at large. “We are honoured to receive the donation of these 67 trees on Mandela Day as will they really assist us in creating an even “greener” environment for our school.”
The school has a wish-list in place and Steyn City Properties will always look to assist where possible going forward.
